Senior Dog Freezes While Owner Goes Hunting

Senior Dog Freezes To Death While Owner Goes Hunting

And this is why this topic needs to be shouted about from the roof tops. Dogs (and cats) freeze to death all the time outside unfortunately because people don’t take the time to provide proper shelter, food and love.

This story is just atrocious and heart breaking. How can you just FORGET to have someone take your dog in the house while you’re on a hunting trip, do you not think it’s cold enough that your dog can freeze to death? Remember, your dog and cat rely on their humans to help them.

How can you just leave town and not have a pet sitter scheduled to visit your poor, old senior dog?

This story is such a tragedy. Click here to read the complete story on Examiner.com.

If you have a dog please make sure that you have things covered with their care, ESPECIALLY if you have an outside dog and cat. Hire a professional pet sitter. Don’t let your dog (or cat) freeze to death outside!

Do You Need Assistance With a Dog House or Cat House?

There’s many places that will help if you have pets that needs shelter. Outside dogs and cats freeze to death in sub zero temperatures. They have to be protected from the elements and they will help if they have the means. Heck, there’s places that will even donate FREE straw so your poor old dog or cat can have a little warmth in whatever shelter you have for them.

If you’re in the Muncie, Indiana area, we have resources here. Contact us and we can set you up with an organization or person willing to help you. There’s no need for your dogs and cats to freeze to death outside.

Not In Muncie But Still Need Help Keeping Your Pets Warm?

Here’s some suggestions:

  • Contact your local animal shelter. Tell them your situation and see if they can help you.
  • Call your local humane society and ask for help.
  • Post your need on local facebook groups. Most cities have groups set up specifically for PETS. Put your need out there, someone will hopefully step up to help you.
  • Contact your local Tractor Supply, Rural King or other store that sells straw. Tell them your need and ask if they would be willing to donate. Be honest and be nice. Many people will help if they feel the person asking is sincere.

May you, and your dog and cat, stay safe and warm this winter season,
