For those of you that don’t know, we’re hosting our 2nd annual Dog-Diggity Easter Egg Hunt on April 19, 2013. This is the largest event sit-stay-play has ever planned and we’re so encouraged by the help and support we’re getting from Muncie and the surrounding communities.
Advertising Help By Woods Edge Apartments, Muncie
Planning an event like this isn’t a small task and Tina from Woods Edge Apartments has helped us to advertise by telling the residents at her complex and also by allowing us to come on April 17 to do a Pet Safety Presentation. At this presentation we’ll talk to the guests about safety around pets, how to greet pets and how to be a responsible pet parent. We’re giving out free guest passes to our event at this Pet Safety Demonstration so if you live in Woods Edge, come on down to watch and get your free pass.
Advertising Help by Forest Oaks Apartments, Muncie
The staff at Forest Oaks have been supportive as well by telling their residents AND by placing one of our flyers right on their front door. You can’t miss our sign and we’ve already had a few residents sign up.
Relationship Building and Referrals
On a side note: We provide dog walking and pet sitting services in both Woods Edge and Forest Oaks and this relationship is integral for small businesses like mine. I rely on them to mention us to new residents with pets and I refer clients to them if they’re looking for nice apartments to move to.
For businesses like mine that rely on word-of-mouth, networking and social media to do much of our advertising, having support from apartment communities and other supporting businesses to promote and advertise our endeavors is refreshing and rewarding. I can’t thank them enough for their help.
Tips For Marketing And Advertising Your Event Or Business
Are you hosting an event for the community? I encourage you to network as much as possible. Use social media and connect with local businesses. With their help, you can reach a larger audience at a fraction of the cost you would spend if you went through radio or newspaper promotion.
I’m a creative person and try to think outside the box when it comes to advertising our services, our events and other things we’d like to bring attention to. It’s all trial and error and I’ve notice that some things work really well and bring in the type of attention we’re shooting for, while other forms of advertising, not so much.
My suggestion to you is to think outside the box too and get creative with your advertising plan. You never know where someone will see your flyer or hear about your promotion.
