Does My Dog Walker Need A House Key?

Does My Dog Walker Need A House Key? [Video]

Our third video in our dog walking series we address the topic of KEYS and how we pick up your dog for our dog walk.

No question is too silly to ask and I thought I’d address it here because other people probably wonder how the whole thing works also.

So here’s how it works:

  1. You visit our website, read up on our dog walking services and policies;
  2. You send us a message through the website or call to set up a consultation;
  3. We send you preliminary forms or you print them off from this website;
  4. Once the forms are complete you call and we’ll set up the consultation;
  5. At the consultation we’ll meet you and your dog(s) and learn about the needs and your requests;
  6. We pick up the forms from you, pick up 2 house keys (we’ll explain this in another video) and set you up for services;
  7. On your scheduled dog walking date we’ll arrive and take your dog(s) for their walk; and
  8. We can send you an update via twitter, instagram, text or email, just ask!

One thing I mention in the video is that we can’t guarantee a specific time to walk your dog. Let me explain this a little further.

We can’t say we’ll be at your home precisely at noon for your service. Why? Because we have other clients during lunch and when you’re dealing with animals, they don’t care about our schedules.

If we have a client immediately before yours and the dog decides he doesn’t want to end his walk, it might take us longer than normalĀ  to get him home and get him settled. Or, let’s say we’re out walking someone else’s dog and when we arrive back at their house, the cat decided to make a huge mess on the carpet. Cleaning that up might take extra time as well.

On a side note: the only time we WILL guarantee a specific time is if there’s medication involved. An example is a diabetic animal. They require insulin at specific times and we’ll adjust our schedule to make sure we can be there (or get another dog walker or pet sitter to take over the job).
