Many of our pet sitting clients use crates for their dogs. Crates are an awesome thing to use however, keep in mind that your dog should not stay in one for prolonged periods of time and need potty breaks.
Being in a crate too long can cause your dog to have urinary, social and behavior problems. However, when used properly, crates can be lifesavers!
It’s Not Just People That Need A Potty Break
Schedule a mid-day potty break for days when you can’t get home at lunch.
Set up weekly visits so you can work longer at work so you can save extra money for vacation.
Book mid-day visits when you have multiple dogs that can’t be together alone.
If you’re going to use a crate for your dog or puppy because they’re destructive or not fully house trained yet, scheduling a mid-day potty break can help you (and your dog).

P.S. To prevent anything getting caught up in the crate, remove your dog’s collar, leash and harness before you put them in their crate. Leaving these things on could result in them getting stuck somehow on the crate and hurting themselves.
